Guess the Deficiency

Zinc Deficiency

Zinc is an essential element that is involved in the metabolic properties of many proteins. Deficiency can be seen across many clinical manifestations and found in malnutrition cases and malabsorptive states. Zinc is also found in zinc finger proteins involved in DNA transcription.

Zinc deficiency is characterized by anosmia (loss of smell), dysgusia (loss of taste), poor wound healing, rash, hypogonadism, and even growth impairment.
